Pastor Brad was born in south central Pennsylvania and spent most of his growing years in the town of Hershey. He attended a local Adventist elementary school through 8th grade and then finished up the rest of his studies in a public high school. From there he began studying at Andrews University, but finished his undergraduate studies at Penn State where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree that prepared him for medical school. It was during his time at Penn State in the fall of 1991 that Brad found Jesus as is personal Savior. Soon after he felt the pull of God directing him to pursue ministry. During the next two years, Pastor Brad was a Bible worker for a church planting project in Pittsburgh where he met his future wife, Julie Bragg. They attended Andrews University and in 1995 Julie received her masters’ degree in religious education while Brad attained his Master of Divinity.
After graduation, Pastor Brad and Julie moved back to Pennsylvania where they pastored in the south central region of the state from 1997 to 2005. In 2006, the Cassells moved their family that now included three boys to the south Atlanta area where they ministered for four years. Pastor Brad and Julie received the call to Tampa First in 2010 where Brad is currently working on his doctorate of ministry in leadership through the Adventist Theological Seminary.
Pastor Brad enjoys several hobbies and areas of interest in his life outside of being a church pastor. He likes to spend time with his boys especially participating in different sports like golf, football, and basketball. You can also find him at the gym where he enjoys physical fitness and finding opportunities to meet and minister to new people.
"My family and I have been blessed to be here at Tampa 1st church since the spring of 2010." Claudette studied Theology at Southwestern Adventist University, and Graduated from Andrews University with Masters of Divinity. "I love the adventure of God, every time you make yourself available to God, life becomes a amazing rollercoster ride." Mission trips and traveling with her family are what drive Claudette outside of church ministry. As a family, Claudette with hubby Rene, son Adrian, and daughters Lina and Adela enjoy the beach and hanging out with new and old friends alike.
For the past 8 years Dorine has been our lifesaver. She, husband Michael, and daughter Amber were baptized into our church on April 7, 2001. As native Tampanians they have lived here all their lives. A fun fact to know is that Michael and Dorine were born at the same hospital and delivered by the same doctor (and no they are not brother and sister as Michael likes to tease).
Amber now lives in Lakeland with her husband where she recently earned her Master's in Library Science.
Most days you can find Dorine in our office but outside of the job that she loves you can find her cooking up a new recipe for family and friends. She feels blessed to be in the position but we feel even more blessed to have her.
