Isaiah 6:6-7 reads; Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a burning coal he had taken from the altar with a pair of tongs. He touched my lips with it and said, “See, this coal has touched your lips. Now your guilt is removed, and your sins are forgiven.” Isaiah was in a vision and saw the Lord on His throne. He felt totally unworthy to be in God’s presence and openly declared that he had unclean lips along with many others in land of Judah. The angel touched his lips and cleansed Isaiah from sin. The cleansing coal represents the trial of the second death that Jesus would suffer on Calvary to atone for our sins. Isaiah was specific in confessing his sin, and the angel of the Lord was specific in forgiving that sin. If you want to experience the cleansing of sin by the blood of Jesus, then you must be specific in your confession because the Lord wants to heal you where it hurts today. Once you experience forgiveness, you will be free to experience God’s peace more fully and have greater opportunity to be influenced by the indwelling Spirit.
