Psalm 55:22 says, “Give your burdens to the Lord, and he will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall.” David wrote this psalm during a difficult time when he was betrayed and persecuted by a friend. We are not sure if it was his son Absalom or another of several instances where those close to him were the source of betrayal. David calls us to give or cast our burdens on the Lord. Jesus said in Matthew 11, “Come unto me all your who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Do you believe that God wants your burdens? Jesus took upon Himself all our sins on Calvary. Don’t carry those burdens around with you today. This verse concludes by giving the promise that God will not allow us to slip or fall when we give our burdens to Him. We will slip and fall by carrying our own burdens, but God wants to keep that from happening. Whatever difficulty or sin your dealing with, give it over to Jesus because He cares for you!
