Psalm 112:7 reads; “He will not be afraid of evil tidings; His heart is steadfast, trusting in the LORD.” Charles Spurgeon comments on this passage by saying; “Trust in the Lord and wait patiently for him. Your wisest course is to do as Moses did at the Red Sea, “Stand still and see the salvation of God.” For if you give way to fear when you hear of evil tidings, you will be unable to meet the trouble with that calm composure which nerves for duty and sustains under adversity. How can you glorify God if you play the coward?” How are you dealing with the trouble in your life today? Are you composed in the Lord or running like a coward? These are strong but accurate words. Moses told the troubled Children of Israel to stand still and see the salvation of God when they were pinned between the Red Sea and Pharaoh’s army. God opened the Red Sea and Israel walked across on dry land! God will part the waters for You in your trial if you would just trust in Him and be absorbed in His peace that passes all understanding. Don’t run like the cowards of this world, but stand still in the presence of the Lord.
