1 Peter 4:15-16 says; If you suffer, however, it must not be for murder, stealing, making trouble, or prying into other people’s affairs. But it is no shame to suffer for being a Christian. Praise God for the privilege of being called by his name!  Jesus shares in the beatitudes; “Blessed are those who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”  Notice both passages deal with suffering for the glory of God and because You follow Him in obedient faith.  Be careful not to confuse suffering for the sake of the gospel and suffering because you disobeyed God’s commands.  God has no problem correcting those He loves by allowing trials and suffering to take place in this world of sin.  Let’s keep close to the Lord in prayer and in His Word.  Surrender your will to God to make sure that you’re suffering because of following Christ and not selfish ambition.
