Sweat God’s Small Stuff

Jesus was taking His last journey to Jerusalem where He would be tortured, condemned, and crucified after sweating blood for the sins of the human race in the garden of Gethsemane.  The disciples were still missing the boat with Jesus dying to the point where they were even arguing about who would be the greatest in the new kingdom!  Jesus was already feeling the tremors of the Father’s curse to pay the price for our sins as He narrowed His focus to the Cross.  Yet in the midst of the main mission to die for sins, the cries of blind Bartimaeus was heard in Jericho.  The disciples and the crowd tried to shut Bartimaeus up, but Jesus heard his cries and stopped to heal his blindness.

What can we learn from this story?  We must always be ready to hear God’s voice and act on His instructions by faith even if we are on a bigger mission for His kingdom.  Jesus had a bigger job at Calvary, but the Father called Him to heal Bartimaeus.  No matter how big or small the task, God wants us to be ready and listening for His call.
