Paul uses the analogy of the body to describe the church in Romans chapter 12. Christ is the head of the church as our physical head is the lead in our bodies. Our bodies would cease to function with our head as the brain is the central command of all our working parts. Christ must be the head of our church today. We can get caught up so easily in strategies that might sound good, but they are not factoring in Christ’s wisdom as our leader and head. What happens when we give Christ full control of the body? Paul says that even the seemingly insignificant parts are lifted. We suffer when they suffer and rejoice in their joy. Let’s commit to placing Christ as the head of our personal lives, our homes, and our church today!
