The Light

2 Peter 1:20-21 says; Above all, you must realize that no prophecy in Scripture ever came from the prophet’s own understanding, or from human initiative. No, those prophets were moved by the Holy Spirit, and they spoke from God.  God moved through the prophets and writers of the Bible through the Holy Spirit.  In other words, God revealed His message to the writers and the Spirit moved them to write down the words in their own context.  That’s why we have four gospels with different frames of reference dealing with the same story of Jesus.  The Lord has preserved His Word over the centuries, and we have access to it in different translations on our devices at the touch of a finger.  The problem is with us.  We have access to the Word, but we are too busy to absorb ourselves in it.  We wait for a good sermon or a Sabbath School teacher to fill us with the Word when we all should be filled daily with the Word on our own!  Psalm 119:105 says; Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.  Light comes into our lives through God’s Word.  If you are not into the Bible, then this light can’t come into your life.  God has preserved His Word for us in these last days.  Let us commit to God’s Word and not squander the opportunity for His light to shine through us.
