Paul says in Romans 8:26; We do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Oswald Chambers comments on this verse in today’s devotion by saying; “We realize that we are energized by the Holy Spirit for prayer; and we know what it is to pray in accordance with the Spirit; but we don’t often realize that the Holy Spirit Himself prays prayers in us which we cannot utter ourselves.” Praise the Lord for His Holy Spirit who prays through us when we don’t know what to say. Have you ever been in such a desperate situation that you did not really know what to pray? Surrender to the Lord and the Holy Spirit will speak on Your behalf to God’s throne of grace through the merits of Jesus Christ. See how the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit all work together when we pray. Let’s not neglect daily and continual prayer. It holds the power of the Godhead, the power of the universe at our disposal. Chambers goes on to say that we are the temples of the Holy Spirit and it is our job to keep the way clear for the Spirit to move in and through us. This means we must clear the way physically, emotionally, spiritually, and mentally for God’s glory to fill us to overflowing today. May God bless us on our journey in prayer as vessels for His glory.
