Charles Spurgeon shares in a devotional; “If you would reach to something higher than ordinary groveling experience, look to the Rock that is higher than you, and gaze with the eye of faith through the window of importunate prayer. When you open the window on your side, it will not be bolted on the other.” It is easy to grovel in our sorrows in this world of sin. We are called to prayer. Prayer opens the windows of heaven and allows us to see things higher than our own existence. The channel of prayer is always open through the Rock, Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit is our messenger that defies time and space in dimensions that even the most spectacular sci-fi movie could not describe. Are you down today? Have the troubles of this world gotten the best of you? Open the windows of heaven and talk to your heavenly Father through Jesus Christ. He will give you peace as you gaze into a better world that will be yours one day at the resurrection. Until then, God will sustain us as we spend time with Him and surrender to His will.
